As a qualified supervisor meeting all requirements of the CRPO and holding a Master’s degree, I provide individual and group supervision to those who may require hours for their Practicum placement and/or qualifying status with the CRPO. Additionally, clinical supervision may be useful for those already in practice whom are in need of extra support or looking to connect more with others. I approach supervision as using our time together to expand your personal growth and development as you further your clinical skills while feeling solid in your safe and effective use of self. Please contact me for rates or additional information.
Through RRT, I understand that the part of mind that responds to things emotionally doesn’t respond to reason and logic. I love cupcakes and can tell you ten reasons why I shouldn’t eat them, but put one in front of me and I’m not only going to eat it but will ask where you got it and get more! I could also be prescribed medication to suppress my appetite, but that won’t stop me from thinking about those cupcakes…and let’s be honest, I’m going to eat it anyways, regardless if I’m hungry.
In one session, RRT eliminates the negative emotional or behavioural influence of traumatic events, whether these experiences are remembered, repressed or forgotten. Communicating with the emotional part of brain while pinpointing exact events to resolve allows change to be complete and rapid with dramatic improvements in thoughts, feelings and behaviour. RRT is effective with children, teens, and adults
Consider this, zebra’s only job is to survive; protect self, protect family, protect territory, and procreate. Now consider this, the largest part of our brain functions like a zebra. You ever see a family of zebras running around head-butting each other and then refusing to speak or having lengthy lectures when they’re done? No. That’s because zebras are updated to be present and do things with focus and purpose. To zebra, if it’s not currently happening, it doesn’t exist.
At times there are many factors at play that cause family members to respond in ways that have been painful or disturbing to others. Using an attachment and trauma informed approach allows for things to be resolved, cleared, and updated at mind’s highest level to interact in a way that is possible and beneficial. Benefits of Family Therapy include positive changes in family relationships, increased understanding, support, and communication, and to be more like zebra.
